Looking like weird rosy octopi these wonderful rose hips shout “autumn is on the way!”. I wish I had drawn little smiley faces on them now. Or fangs; fangs would have been much better.

After some cold weather now is like summer again, but leaves are already changing colours and fruits are ripening. Maybe the Dahlia will finally flower 🙂

I hope the dahlia does flower! It must have made a sweet little tuber down under.

Stay put, I saw it opening yesterday…It had some very sweet tubers since I transplanted it, couldn’t believe the size of the tubers the seedlings had.

Ha ha! They really do look like octopus, don’t they?
We are well into Autumn up here and I have been mourning the end of summer for the last few weeks 😦
I guess that Autumn isn’t too bad a season, it’s what comes after it that I really don’t like….

Winter for you means a different thing to us in the softie south, hope it is not too painful this year. 🙂

LOL fangs would have been awesome! 😉
The rose hips are just barely showing a blush here, but it won’t be long and they’ll be ready to pick. Do you use them in tea?

I haven’t tried it but I think they do at Tapeley Park where this photo was taken. When I was a little girl my mum used to give me spoonfuls of rosehip syrup as a tonic. I remember it was delicious!
