This rose/geranium combo is very effective. In fact it caught my eye as soon as I arrived at L&L’s on Friday. The baby pink rose bloom, hiding bashfully behind the indigo geranium, a match made in horti-heaven. Later that morning Lavinia was standing transfixed by the lovely couple and I said “they look great don’t they?”. “They do” she replied “but I am a little surprised as I don’t have a rose there”. Where this interloper came from, who knows, but do we care? He is making a very good neighbour and that should be celebrated.
I have fond memories of a deep red rose nestled up against a common purple iris.

I wish the unexpected were always that beautiful! And to think how hard we try to dream up such combinations…

Very pretty. I like that you see the beauty in little cameos such as this, just as I do. Sometimes I point them out to Him Indoors and he give me a look that says ‘really?’ and I wonder if I am tiny bit nuts. I have concluded he’s the one missing out as he doesn’t see it 😉

I agree, it is good to take time to look and see. That look sound familiar, sometimes it is accompanied by a grunt. 🙂
