This bashful soul, Gladiolus murielae commonly known as the Abyssinian gladiolus, holds its head in reverential contemplation. Its light is beneath the bushel, peek beneath the snow white blooms and you will find an Ink Blot smudge of rich aubergine. I can see two dancing ferrets, sipping Pina Coladas. How about you?
My immediate thought is of one of those “aliens” from deep under water in the film “The Abyss”. Even in a still photograph there’s a hint of graceful movement in those two large petals on each side. (I may be released from the asylum soon)

Actually I am glad I’m not alone with an over-active imagination!

I see two very rude ferrets who didn’t bother to offer me a pina colada. What a shame.

I have bought corms and had blooms, but never had flowers after the first year. Maybe it’s because of the ferrets? How can that be?

I see two dangling legs as someone tries to climb through a hole in the ceiling next to the chandelier in their white underpants.
