I haven’t been very well. Now I am much better but not best.
I am a gardener. It is not a job. Of course it my job, what I mean it is not just my job, it is me. My identity. Who I am, what I am. For a while I thought I might not be able to do it anymore. This could still be an option. Not yet though.
Is it this that sets us apart? Is it this that merges the division between amateur and professional to almost imperceptible? A passion, a yearning, an impulsion. For money, for pleasure, for money and pleasure. It is all the same.
Don’t worry, I’ve not done yet.
Glad you’re feeling ‘better’ but don’t start back too soon!

Next week I will do a couple of half days, that might creep into full days if I feel OK. Then Christmas!!!!

Was wondering why it has been 10 days, you have been missed. Poor you, get well soon, gardening is ‘You’. It is that time of year, TLC required as well as some sunshine, I hope you are getting some of both. x

Oh dead. Sorry you’ve been ill. And this time I said nothing (after being concerned last time when you just took a little break). I’ll get it right one day 🙂
Meanwhile, please get fully better soon. Maybe a glass of the “botanicals” would cheer you up?

I think autocorrect’s been at the botanicals. This time changed me to you! I’m going south for comfort!

I’m sorry to hear you’ve been poorly, I wondered where you were but assumed you’d gone for some winter sun. I wish I’d checked on you, now. Glad you’re feeling better and that you’re going to be able to continue to garden, even if it’s just for the time being. Take care and get plenty of rest!

Things that seem possible when you are well seem impossible when you’re not. Monday morning I got out of bed and opened the curtains and what did I see? A garden covered with snow and more of the white stuff falling from the sky. I stood at my window on my aching arthritic legs and thought, “I don’t think I can do this today.” I had places to go and things to do, but I didn’t go there and I didn’t do them. I’m feeling better now and I hope you are, too.
