Is it really true? I think it might be!
This Iochroma australe has a long way to go before it fulfils its destiny. If all goes well, if its benefactor is vigilant, it is fated to become a stunning shrub covered in pendulous lavender bells. Everyone has to start somewhere. And this is an excellent start.
Well done !will keep fingers(green) crossed for it’s future.
It always surprises and delights me when I have such a promising start but somewhere between seed and plant something happens which is proof of my gardening incompetence

You are not alone, there are plenty of hurdles between now and then, any of which might trip us up!

Now is Iochroma australe an Iochroma or an Eriolarynx? That is the question!
But the cute little baby has poked its head out into our world. No doubt you will nurture it; speak to it in “mummy language”; stand it on the bedside table at night so it’s not lonely. If love is a plant food, it’s in bountiful hands. Lucky bu****!

I can’t keep up! Eriolarynx? Really? Sounds like a medical condition. I will do my best with the babe, early days as yet. 🙂

In your hands wonderful plants from little seeds do grow. We would love to see its progress over the coming months.

I had to Google this one – very pretty! There’s nothing quite like growing plants from seeds. Often it’s the only way to get your hands on that rare gem. Good luck with this one!
