Geum ‘Blazing Sunset’

Geum Blazing Sunset

It is hot, but I expect you knew that already.  Back to work tomorrow after a long weekend off. Lovely holiday weather, not so good for working.  Never mind, I am well prepared with cooling clothes, cover ups, sun screen, hat and water bottle all at the ready.   Expect another tale tomorrow night.

Something else that is a bit toasty is this Geum ‘Blazing Sunset’.  A bit tasty too!

  1. You’ll be pleased to know that, overcome by the heat, my activities today have been limited to tying 5 lilies that think they’re tree lilies to bamboo canes (which I had to go out and buy) and washing lots of seed trays*. Which, of course, means that tomorrow I have to tackle a 2-day border in a single day. Please don’t ask for a photo of the cold frame!!!!!!!!!

And I’m going to get someone in to remove the bole of the tree I cut down (to the bole) last year,

And I have two 1-litre bottles of Southern Comfort remaining from May 2016 birthday presents if anyone local’s interested in an appropriate donation to Perennial.

    * visits to vestal virgins (a diminishing breed) don’t count and please don’t ask!

  2. I feel bad for you, hate it when is too hot and in all honesty very unproductive; I think my mind doesn’t function too well when it gets over 30C (that’s what I call to hot).

  3. Blazing it is, 22 degrees at 5am this morning, I woke early so descended to the potting shed. Hope you were not too hot today, it was 31 degrees in Barnstaple late morning, lots of oldies hogging the shade by the Esplanade (no, I was not one of them).
