Hanker

leonotis

My hanker for gardening has increased tenfold, I am beginning to pace the floor.  The seed delivery salved the itch a little, but I need more exercise and fresh air and company to be happy.  The weather has been so dreadful that I haven’t even been able to get outside into our own desolate plot.  On one hand this pleases me as I would have lost many days work if I hadn’t been on my sabbatical, justifying my decision.  On the other hand the relentless gloom is wearing.  So I have been feeling a little low.  There has been sighing.

Then singing.  On the right day.  It was wonderful.  And non-fattening.

At the end of next week I shall be re-released into the horticultural world and I am champing at the bit.  Watch out, I’m on my way and I’m going to be annoyingly enthusiastic!

      1. Having invented waterproofs, the Good Lord invented the hosepipe with which to wash the muck off the aforementioned waterproofs. (The water should not penetrate through the material. The clue is in the name.) He also invented the outside tap with which to feed water to the aforementioned hosepipe in order to wash the aforementioned muckiness off the aforementioned waterproofs quickly. (The quicklyness precludes interference with the related process of indexing photographs.)

  1. I empathise, I sometimes sit in my little green house cursing grey skies and the gloomy weather. Daily I walk down my garden to inspect the Daphne that is still tantalisingly in tight bud. I have stopped standing up my garden chairs as this seems to cause yet another set of gale force winds to blow them down again, then I remember that it is still January, patience is a virtue.

  2. Hello ,

I saw your tweet about animals and thought I will check your website. I like it!

I love pets. I have two beautiful thai cats called Tammy(female) and Yommo(male). Yommo is 1 year older than Tommy. He acts like a bigger brother for her. 🙂
I have even created an Instagram account for them ( https://www.instagram.com/tayo_home/ ) and probably soon they will have more followers than me (kinda funny).

I have subscribed to your newsletter. 🙂

Keep up the good work on your blog.

    Regards

  3. It was dry for a couple of hours this afternoon so out I went and quickly got muddy wellies and coat. I too am dreaming of better weather and more gardening.
