I did something very odd in my garden today. No, not gardening, although that is a little unusual, I sat on the bench, in the sunshine and I drank a cup of coffee. I have never been one to sit in the garden. It makes me twitchy, remembering things that need to be checked or jobs I should be doing. Whilst I sat I looked through my seed box, making decisions, decisions, decisions. It was rather nice, I might well try it again.
This full-face is the hellebore that was in bud last week. Please note the intentional hazy tone to this photograph. Hours of picture manipulation have produced the resultant air of romance and one too many gins.
Lovely. Here’s to more in-the-garden coffees!

Consider yourself very lucky indeed to be sitting in sunshine drinking coffee. We’re definitely out-of-sync! More about this tomorrow. Actually, six more about this.

So you weren’t sitting in the garden drinking coffee at all, it was gin!

I wish! We have a distinctly gin free house at the moment 😦

I find it very difficult to just sit and enjoy my garden surroundings, I’m always up faffing & fiddling with things, I think the last time I just sat and enjoyed was about 3 years ago one July when it was scorching hot. I even exposed my hairy legs to the air.
Sadly not much ‘just sitting’ planned for this year, I’ve decided to tackle lots of big jobs I’ve been avoiding… new path, shed, flower border…….
Oh hum.

Perhaps there are Sitters and Shifters. This is set in stone and until we can shift no more we are fated to keep moving. No bad thing though. 🙂

Coffee?! Shouldn’t that be done inside without all the distractions? Oh, duh. Why does everyone ‘else’ get to relax in our gardens?

It is difficult to sit in your own garden and do nothing, as you sit there the to do list keeps getting longer! I have tried meditation, but my mind keeps wandering of those jobs. Prehapes I should try more Rioja!
