Wow, I would say that too! And hmmmm, it is sort of hardy here (zones 7-9, and I’m in zone 7 if we don’t have a winter like the last one…) Is that ‘Pink Princess’?

It is Appleblossom, looking lovely this week, but still I don’t really like escallonia, they feel funny.

Horrid tacky leaves, always looks a bit tatty, used a great deal in gardens here!

They smell funny too. I was considering buying one at the weekend ….but not for long. Something more difficult to pronounce obviously caught my roving eye! I have just discovered Senecio cristobalensis Gill – have you grown this before? Highly stroke-able, unlike escallonia.
