Laughing

poppy

We were laughing.

I was attempting to photograph the newly emerged poppy.  The wind gusted the ephemeral flower in a haphazard dance, impossible to capture unless you were acquainted with the moves. Which I wasn’t, although I did my best to keep up.  This was all I could manage.

When I saw the picture I laughed again.

  1. You need my camera. Well 17 pages of the unintelligible big (A4, online) manual refer to “burst recording” which, I think but don’t quote me, means taking 30 photos a second for 8 seconds. Then I can plough through* the 240 photos (sorry “recordings”) to select the best to keep and then, if I understand a further 11 pages, I can refocus the recording (i.e. photo). I think. But somehow, that cheery poppy conveyed a sense of you laughing. Which is nice.

[* Apparently the burst recording will drain the battery so I’ll have to recharge it before ploughing. I tried to buy a second battery but, apparently, it’s been discontinued despite the camera model only being released to market in March.]
