Especially when it shines on an 8-inch thick tree root that I have to extract from the ground somehow. Well, I could cheat I suppose, I only really need to remove a foot length of it.
I’m sill trying to expose enough to cut out. There’s a concrete kerbstone (heaved up) in the way that I need to remove first. And I need to remove the concrete that’s holding it upright, if not exactly in place. And negotiate with a neighbour to dig up their side of the kerbstone run to get at their side of the concrete ………
I don’t know. It was funny because I read your post with the beautiful witch hazels and the very next day went to a garden where a large shrub/tree was blossoming. They are new to the garden so don’t know any names, it could well be. It was a sight for sore eyes.

That is beautiful, a little bit more blue sky would be lovely, too.

I think we are due it! I am ever hopeful. Supposed to be getting colder next week, so hopefully that means a little more sun.

Thanks you. The blue sky didn’t last long, not long after this photo was taken it was hailing!
