This “Barbie on a special night out” azalea is bound to divide opinion, it is a plant that you will either love or you will hate. Personally I rather admire its irreverence, its total lack of subtlety, although I could probably only cope for short periods of time. I would have to avoid any close encounters until after lunch and only then if I was sunglassed up. It does however make me smile, which can’t be a bad thing. So if asked to vote I say would definitely say a resounding “aye”!Β And in case you wondered, I love marmite too!
It looks like a Judge Solomon Azalea. I planted some by accident once. Marmite??

In the UK the marketing campaign for Marmite (savoury yeast spread) is you either love it or hate it!

I love Marmite, but am no fan of Azaleas. I don’t mind a touch of irreverence, but it’s a resounding “nay!” from me. Thrice nay, in fact!

You really couldn’t get much pinker, it was shining out in the spring sunshine like a beacon!

Not crazy about bright pink in general, but in early spring everything goes for me π So it’s a ‘Aye!’

Aha, so it is like Vegemite then. π A past Kiwi co-worker was addicted to that, and had it sent up from Down Under regularly!

Yes, very similar but not quite so granular. Did you try it, or was it so precious there was no sharing?

Not really, I could only concentrate on that crazy pink…

Glad to know what marmite is. I’ve heard of it but===== The azalea is gorgeous. We have dozens, but no Barbie.

I like to educate! Perhaps Marmite will offer me a job in overseas marketing, then I can come and visit you all π

It’s gorgeous, definitely a ‘brighten any day’ plant, I would love a pair in pots each side of the door – and I love Marmite!
