Tricyrtis hirta, the Hairy Toad lily was looking splendid today. It is not however looking like any toad I’ve ever met, hairy or otherwise.

Perhaps toads can be gorgeous, is this one hardy? Will it survive on my stony clay?

It is hardy, I think, slugs and snails adore it, think it likes hummus rich, don’t we all?!

Hmmm, slugs & snails bit very tricky here, we have recently spotted a thrush for the first time and hope she stays. Could also do with a few more (like maybe 100) toads of the warty variety.
