It is crazy rhododendron time again in Max’s garden. The colours are vivid and varied, the forms both Laurel and Hardy, each bloom a pollinator pit stop. Truly, I would be hard pushed to choose a favourite. This candy and lemonade beauty is definitely in the top ten. Veering slightly from convention, the top ten consist of approximately thirty specimens. They have to squish up close to fit in. When you are in such fine company you have to make compromises.
Top Ten

You do realise, I hope, that I have started a campaign against people who post plant photos to the internet without appending full details of aforementioned plant, including species, sub-species, form, cultivar, variety or whatever you want to call it. I shall now be forced to add you to my hit list.
But thanks for not providing full details of aforementioned plant, including species, sub-species, form, cultivar, variety or whatever you want to call it as my bank tells me that my want list is full. Though they spell “want list ” O V E R D R …. Stupid bank has a faulty spellchecker,

You just can’t please some people. Just add me to both lists and be done with it.

You clearly ignored the implicit praise for the plant. And the implicit opportunity to provide details of aforementioned plant, including species, sub-species, form, cultivar, variety or whatever you want to call it. Awww! You don’t know, do you!? Well you can ask Max and tell us next week. By which time I may have paid a pittance into my bank account.

OK, I admit it, another one I don’t know, no one knows, perhaps the man who planted it 60 years ago knows, a seance might be required.

The plants are always greener on the other side, or something like that! 🙂

Hey! I just featured them in the Six on Saturday meme. There were many more that I did not get pictures of, and there are many MANY more at the farm.

They are going to take over the world, in a very pretty way. 🙂

They might take over small regions, but they will never conquer the Santa Clara Valley.
